É importante manter o programa de visto gold em Portugal por várias razões. A decade ago, I was selling Portuguese wines for an importer in California. I loved the wines so much that I won a sales competition and got to visit Portugal and meet the producers, and fell in love with this beautiful country and its proud, dreamy, brilliant people. My husband is a ceramics artist and began talking to his community about creating a space that could host American tourists who wanted to learn more about the Portuguese craft traditions. Ultimately, we decided to buy a property that had always been a small local accommodation so that we would not disrupt the local housing market but could make use of the space to host guests and workshops that would promote Portuguese craft traditions and winemaking. We are not rich, but we sold our home in the U.S. and invested most of our savings based on the promise that Portugal wanted investors like us, and that it was a stable constitutional democracy that would honor its commitments. We were planning to immigrate in September, but now, without notice or good cause, everything we relied on is threatened. I am signing this as an appeal to principles of fairness and justice, and hope that Portugal will honor the promises it made.

We are a couple who plans to live in Portugal for our retirement. We have planned this transition for many years. We applied for the Golden Visa as flexibility of stay is required to frequently visit ageing parents in Canada and Australia. We respectfully request that the current stay requirements be maintained.

In 2021, after investing the required 500,000EUR in Portugal we were approved for the Golden Visa program and followed the rules set up by the Portuguese government. Since then we have spent upwards of an additional 100,000EUR in Portugal. This is money we would have never spent unless we were assured the program would run as the Portuguese government promised. We've operated in good faith and with integrity, and we have fulfilled and followed all of your rules and requirements. It's your turn to keep your word and fulfill the terms of the arrangement you set up.

As an investor exploring golden visas, I’d been very interested in Portugal’s scheme. With the increased risk being posed by this proposed change in position, my trust in the Portuguese State is now compromised. I’ll continue to review options until it’s clear whether Portugal wants my investment.

Sou advogada, com cerca de 200 famílias com vistos gold atribuídos ou solicitados. Envergonha-me a retroatividade das medidas recentemente propostas. Acabar com os vistos gold daqui em diante - tudo bem, é a política do Estado, embora mesmo assim deveria haver um período de transição. Não renovar os títulos de residência já concedidos alterando os pressupostos da sua renovação ou alterar os pressupostos dos processos submetidos e ainda sem decisão final (alguns há mais de um anos - por CULPA DO SEF!) é inconstitucional, na minha opinião.

As regras do GV sofreram alterações em Janeiro 2022, os investidores que compram uma unidade no Resort Turístico não influenciam o aumento dos preços das casas para os portugueses. Portugal é um pais Europeu e devia respeitar a constituição dar pelo menos um prazo (por exemplo 3/ meses ou até ao final deste ano, como fizeram nos outros países) e de maneira nenhuma fazer alterações retroativos.
