A reputação de Portugal como um país juridicamente seguro está por cair por terra caso a intenção do governo se concretize. Não se pode imaginar um Estado Democrático de Direito sem o respeito aos mais basilares institutos do direito.

Portugal está, infelizmente, a tornar-se um Estado pária para o investimento privado. O mesmo dinheiro que ajudou a remodelar o Porto e Lisboa está agora a ser rejeitado por um governo que está claramente perdido... e também falido e que também está a levar o país a outro défice. Enquanto isso, a população portuguesa é mal educada sobre os benefícios disso porque é mais fácil para o governo socialista apontar o dedo para estrangeiros e outros por suas falhas na política... criando um xenófobo, que como português eu nunca tinha visto antes. 20.000 Golden Visa concedidos, mais de 10 anos, matemática simples... muito poucas pessoas recebendo Residência. Em uma população de 10.500.000 pessoas. Espero que alguém possa finalmente fazer algumas contas corretamente e descobrir isso antes que Portugal volte à Idade das Trevas. Atualmente nenhum Investidor Privado ou Institucional quer tocar este país com uma vara de 20 pés enquanto Costa e seus Comparsas afundam lentamente este navio!

Thanks for starting this petition. We also feel betrayed and defrauded and disregarded. We invested in GV-approved investment funds in June 2021, submitted GV applications in July 2021, and just had our biometrics only recently in Jan. 2023, and are still waiting for final ARI permits. After the runaround and delays we've been through with SEF, this latest ill-considered action by the government is a kick in the gut and has further shaken any faith and trust we have in Portugal government's responsibility and propriety.

The primary reason we selected the Portuguese Golden Visa program over the other European countries was due to having the option of becoming a citizen. in my family everyone holds a different nationality, so we liked having the option of us all having the same nationality if we chose to do so. Having this option was a promise made by the government and I don't see how that can be taken away for those who have gone through the entire process as per the guidelines set forth by the Portuguese government themselves. If this happens, then the Portuguese government would have willfully cheated all those holding valid Golden Visas under false pretenses, hence it should never be allowed.

Senhor Primeiro-Ministro Há mais de 10 anos, o Governo teve de pedir ajuda externa internacional para assegurar o financiamento de Portugal e da economia portuguesa. Foram anos difíceis para todos os Portugueses, em austeridade, com mais desemprego e com menos rendimento disponível. Neste contexto e por iniciativa do Governo, foi introduzida em 2012 na Lei dos Estrangeiros um mecanismo de atração de investimento estrangeiro, neste caso investimento de cidadãos nacionais de países terceiros à União Europeia, permitindo que estes, mediante o cumprimento de certas condições, pudessem vir a ser titulares de uma autorização de residência em Portugal, que veio a ficar conhecida como “visto gold”. Ao longo dos anos que foram passando, este mecanismo foi uma das bandeiras da diplomacia económica prosseguida pelo Governo, pelas embaixadas de Portugal no exterior e ainda pelas agências governamentais de atração de investimento. Golden Visa lives matter.Please reduce the discrimination against golden visa holders, ask the government to implement the current bill, and increase the service efficiency of SEF for golden visa holders. (My wife, as a secondary applicant, has been unable to make an appointment to enroll fingerprints for the Golden Visa for more than 1 year)

The housing shortage and high rental is not caused by golden visa program. Government needs to relook at the D7 visa which does not require any form of investment in the country but attracting loads of foreigners into the country and renting out all the houses thereby squeezing the housing market. In all, less than 12,000 golden visas were issued, there are more than 730,000 vacant housing in the country, clearly golden visa holders would not be holding on to more than 30,000 houses out of the total 730,000 houses. People need to think what happened to these other 700,000 houses, are they owned mainly by Portuguese or other EU citizens? I know for a fact, many EU citizens move to Portugal and some moved back or to other countries.

Please uphold the law and the law should not have retroactive effects! This will ruin the international impression and image of Portugal and make the country becoming a disrespectful and untrustful country with no credibility
