Our daughter joined Lagoa year 9 in Sept after us moving here in August as i have a business in the Algarve. In our research of schools Nobel were very convincing with what was an offer in regards to standards, teaching and results. Our daughter had previously been in private education at the highly acclaimed Bolton girls school who have a history of high achieving students first class facilities and high standards of teaching in an environment where student welfare was also evident to see. On the basis of the similarities we chose Lagoa but unfortunately as this partition highlights our daughters experiance so far comes way short of expectation. Examples like constant changing of teachers on subjects leading to inconsistency teaching styles that are not adapting to our daughters learning style ie in maths she has spoken to her teacher about what she is struggling with and the answer was to give more homework, an approach of this is how i teach so if you fall behind then no support to help. Also teaching rooms, we were shocked to hear are daughter tell us they have lessons in porta cabins !! I totally support this partition as our own experiences mirror the concerns

Our Y9 daughter has come to us (unprompted) voicing concerns that she feels that she will not achieve good GCSE results. She feels she would perform better at her uk school, we have a business in Portugal and I do not want to split our family up to live in different countries when we were shown statistics and promised the Cambridge curriculum. Our daughter started Nobel in Sept 23 and is currently picking her gcse options

As parents of children in the school since 2016 , we confirm the decline in the quality of education of the Nobel school and decreased timely and effective communication. The reasons stated above are correct and the suggestions are more than justified . If no improvement is noted by the end of the year , we should communicate this feedback on social media for the public (and prospecting parents and teachers ) to be aware . As an efficient way to pull the alarm bell.

We require an immediate clarification from the board of the school to explain why education standards at the school in Lagoa have fallen sub standard in recent months! Turnover of teachers is a clear indication that there is unrest in the management of the school.

I totally agree with everything that has been brought up. The school is on a decline and mediocrity and lack of confidence is becoming apparent in almost all areas. Something has to be done
