My husband and I use the post office regularly. There is always a line of people so the decision to close this station cannot be based on use. Many of the people using the post office do not have vehicles and would have to take the bus to Lagos to do their business. We definitely oppose closing the post office in Praia da Luz.

The community in and around Luz rely on this essential service: it is used by a very wide area of the Algarve population - older people without transport and/or people with disabilities need to access a PO. This office is busy every day, every minute; there is always a queue. Expats also rely on the service with boxes, and locals frequently need to collect parcels. Not only will this be an inconvenience, an insult to the community, but it will also add to the burden of other offices (all of which have long queues) - and result in increased road traffic and pollution. Keep this vital service in Luz - for everyone!

Acho uma falta de respeito e total desconsideração pela população que habita na Vila da Luz, localidades circundantes e todos os inúmeros turistas que as visitam, que aqui usufruem das suas férias! Uma atitude deveras abusadora e sem escrúpulos, baseada somente na sede de lucros, a gastos mínimos, o desejo dos CTT encerrarem a Estação desta localidade e apelo a quem de direito que esta atitude seja ponderada e que jamais esta Estação dos CTT seja encerrada! Serve a população de várias localidades, é essencial para estas pessoas e é uma atitude que está literalmente contra o desenvolvimento do turismo e comércio destas localidades. É desta forma que as empresas, neste caso os CTT, querem contribuir para o progresso do nosso país?! Tenho a certeza que não! E, como habitante da Vila da Luz, sinto-me ultrajada por essa empresa!

I am a pensioner and regularly use the Post Office in Luz and i have a Apartado there. it would be very difficult for me to have to go to Lagos or further afield. Edith the postmistress is incredible and so helpful. the Post Office must not close.

Please save a post office which is used by thousands of people all nationalities. Many local villages use this office and some cannot afford to travel further afield.
