These tolls can only turn a difficult time for the Algarve tourist industry into a complete disaster, absolutely the wrong time to even consider making the A22 a toll road, very sad they have no forsight.

Our business is suffering due to the fact that people from other parts of the Algarve will not use the toll road and are reluctant to use the N125. Suffering the rise in IVA to 23% is hard enough for the restaurant business without this added problem of travel. The Government should be looking to help the tourist industry after all it is Portugals biggest asset. Short sightedness is not what is needed at this time.

What is the point of a New Safe Road if nobody can afford to use it. People revert to the N125 which will be over crowded and become even more dangerous than it already is also in the current crisis shouldnt the government be finding ways to help the people not run us into the ground and limit our line of transport.Also the Algarve depends on money from Tourists and visitors this takes money from there pocket which they could spend in local businesses.
