I will not trust investing in Portugal if you have taken people's money promising something in return, but then after you have the money, you change the rules on us. The fact that the government is even considering doing so is problematic enough, there needs to be a forceful refutation in order for any investor to be able to trust that the government will live up to it's word in exchange for them committing to investments in your country. By all means end the ARI if you think it's no longer in your country's interests, but doing so retroactively, and changing the rules for ARI renewals will be very damaging to investor confidence that Portugal will live up to commitments it's made.

This is unconstitutional and hinters investor’s confidence, both domestic and foreign. Don’t forget investors create job opportunities and contribute billion euros worth of tax revenue to the state. If the government is proceeding what they proposed in such a blinding manner, this will only result in projecting Portugal as a joke on the international stage. Nobody will be interested in whatever future initiatives the government makes because the Portuguese government is behaving like a scammer. And we shall all go back to a weak economy. Period.
