Carta aberta do povo português ao governo e ao povo grego

Cara Grécia,
Os subscritores desta carta, profundamente nauseados com o vergonhoso comportamento do governo português nas negociações que a Grécia tem vindo a desenvolver com a UE, vêm deste modo desvincular-se das suas acções, palavras e programa político.
Aproveitamos para lembrar que nas eleições legislativas de 2011, a abstenção (com votos em branco e nulos) atingiu os 46% e que o partido a que estes senhores pertencem foi eleito com dois milhões de votos, numa população de dez milhões. É com legitimidade que afirmamos: não nos representam.
Não nos representam, sobretudo porque o seu papel de lacaios do governo alemão e neoliberais convictos tem destruído o nosso país e condenado à miséria uma parte importante da população. Estamos hoje mais pobres que há vinte anos. Somos hoje um país de fome e miséria, de desempregados e empregados famintos, de suícidios crescentes, de famílias sem casa, sem acesso a água e luz, de idosos abandonados, de doentes sem acesso a medicamentos, de crianças que desmaiam e adoecem com fome, de estudantes sem acesso a livros e materiais escolares, de escolas degradadas, do pequeno comércio falido, dos incontáveis sem abrigo. Somos hoje um país onde a emigração atingiu números equivalentes aos do Estado Novo, o regime fascista que a nossa revolução de Abril derrubou, mas que agora vemos reencarnado e perpetuado neste governo que não reconhecemos.
Os subscritores desta carta, não podem, por tudo isso, deixar de reafirmar o seu incondicional apoio à luta do povo grego, irmãos no sofrimento, e a sua total solidariedade com o actual governo grego. A vossa luta é a nossa luta e cientes do titânico trabalho que teremos pela frente, congratulamo-nos, desde já, com as pequenas vitórias alcançadas e com a alegria e esperança que trouxeram a uma Europa submissa ao totalitarismo genocida neoliberal.
Obrigada, Grécia. A nossa luta é Internacional.

Open Letter to the Greek People and the Greek Government
Dear Greece
The subscribers of this letter are sickened with the shameful behavior of the Portuguese government in the negotiations that Greece has been developing with the EU. We want to disengage ourselves from their actions, words and political program.
We also wish to take this opportunity to remind the world that in the legislative elections of 2011, less than half of the people of Portugal voted, the abstention rate (plus blank and null votes) in Portugal reached 46% and that the ruling major party was elected with no more than two million votes out of a population of ten million. Therefore we feel entitled to claim that: “they do not represent us”.
But, nevertheless and above all, they don’t represent us due their role as German’s government flunkies and neoliberal policies that have destroyed our country and condemned to misery a significant part of our population. Today we are poorer than twenty years ago. We are now a country of hunger and poverty, of unemployed and of hungry employees, increasing suicides, a country of the homeless, of families without access to water and light, of abandoned elderly, of sick people without medicine, of children who faint because they are sick with hunger, of students without access to books and school materials while attending degraded schools. We are now a country of small bankrupted businesses. A country where emigration reached the same levels as were reached with the Salazar fascist regime. We were lucky to have our April revolution which toppled that Government. But we now see the old guard has been reincarnated and perpetuated in our current government.
Therefore the subscribers of this letter want to reaffirm their full support to the struggle of the Greek people, our brothers in suffering, and their full solidarity with the current Greek government. Your struggle is our struggle. We are aware of the titanic work that lies ahead, but nevertheless we congratulate your people for the small victories and for the joy and hope that you brought to a submissive Europe suffering from neoliberal and neoconservative totalitarism.
Thank you, Greece. Our mutual struggle is international.
