It would be devastating for this development to go ahead. The unique charm and beauty of Alvor will be severely compromised as it becomes merely yet another overcrowded resort. Sadly, it will cause the existing tourists who visit here time and time again due to its unique qualities, to reconsider and go elsewhere, so it’s kind of ‘false economy’. It is also a disgrace to the local residents who are likely to face significant structural issues to their homes and business properties due to the proposed building work, not to mention the environmental implications such as pollution, sewage/drain systems and traffic congestion. An over-developed over-crowded Alvor will only attract the wrong clientele and say goodbye to all of the people who really love, respect, value and appreciate this beautiful place. Alvor is too small and quaint to be able to cater for the cramming of hotels without ruining the place completely! I understand that money is always a major contributing factor in these decisions, however it is also the ruin of many good things! I beg of you not to ruin this special place, and especially not in the proposed location!! Away from the centre would be far more considerate!

This is not in the best interests of this beautiful and so far unspoilt village..I object to this development.

This is a disgrace and would cause great disruption to the local people of Alvor. My husband and myself have been regular visitors to Alvor for aver 20 years and are devastated that this proposal is even being considered in such a beautiful, tranquil fishing village. Absolutely no need for a development of this scale. A lot of tourists who have been visiting for years will stop coming to Alvor if these developments start springing up ruining this wonderful place.
